I’m not a driving instructor. Can I use it?
Yes. Pressing it is like pressing your own brake pedal, and you can expect the same feel as the driver’s brake.
Is it safe and legal?
Yes. Driving instructors use dual controls in lessons, and GOV.UK’s guidance for supervisors says to use dual controls in a dangerous situation if your car has them fitted. A passenger-side brake is just as valuable when a parent or friend supervises a learner.
How durable is it?
Very. It is made of metal, and its moving parts are designed for minimal friction and strain. It is fully tested and inspected before it reaches you.
Will it fit my car?

How much room does the brake take up?
Not much. In most cars there is still room for your feet to rest comfortably on the floor, in front of and to the left of the brake.

Will the brake work in a manual car?
Yes. It brakes effectively in manual cars as well as automatics. If you brake without using the clutch properly, the car may stall.
